Zaden Technologies has been awarded a Phase II SBIR contract by SpaceWERX and the U.S. Space Force to advance its AI-powered Icarus™ platform for automated Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) model generation of advanced space systems. This contract enables Zaden to deliver cutting-edge digital engineering capabilities that accelerate space system development and strengthen U.S. space superiority through faster, more accurate, and more efficient system modeling.
Why It’s Important
Securing a Phase II SBIR award through SpaceWERX marks a critical milestone in Zaden Technologies' mission to deliver AI-driven innovation for national security. As the U.S. Space Force accelerates its digital transformation to maintain superiority in an increasingly contested space domain, Icarus™ provides an AI-enhanced solution to automate and standardize MBSE model generation across complex space systems. Through our ongoing efforts we to aim to not only reduce development timelines by 60x but also improves accuracy, efficiency, and interoperability—addressing urgent operational needs. The Phase II award further solidifies Zaden’s leadership in AI-powered digital engineering and opens the door for expanded collaboration across Space Force and broader Department of Defense programs.
WhAt's Next
With this Phase II award, Zaden Technologies will partner closely with SpaceWERX, AFRL, and Space Force stakeholders to advance the Icarus™ platform and deliver operational prototypes over the next 24 months. The company will focus on optimizing AI-powered automation, improving integration with existing tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler and AFSIM, and supporting mission-critical applications like warfighting simulations and space order of battle evaluations. Successful Phase II execution will position Zaden for Phase III opportunities and broader adoption across the Space Force enterprise. At the same time, Zaden continues to expand its defense partnerships to bring AI-driven innovation to a wider range of national security challenges.
